Similipal tiger reserve, covering an area of 2750sqkms was declared in 1973 as one of the nine project tiger reserves in the country. Located in the Mayurbhanj district Similipal with its dense green forests, hilly terrains, broad open valleys, plateaus, grass lands and rich bio-diversity has the unique distinction of being a Tiger reserve, a national park, a wild life sanctuary, an elephant reserve and a Biosphere reserve. The semi-evergreen to dry deciduous forest of Similipal comprising of 1076 species of plants including 94varieties of orchids with 42 species of mammals,231 species of birds and 29species of reptiles. As per 2008-2009 census, 101 tigers out of the states total population of 192 are found in Similipal. It is home to panthers, tigers, gaurs, bison, antelopes, sambar, mouse deer, etc.
The panoramic view of the waterfalls at Barehipani (400 meters) and Joranda (150 meters) are simply enchanting.
Day 01 :During morning drive to LULUNG the entry point to Similipal. Evening free for relaxation. On the drive can be meeting across various wild animals. Over night stay Lulung or Chahala.
Day 02 :Early morning explore the jungle drive to Joranda and Barehipani water fall .Enroute can be meet across various wild animals. Overnight stay in Zoranda/Baraipani.
Day 03 : Drive to Bhubaneswar Enroute visit Langudi the Buddhist Excavated site.
On board train /flight for onward journey or can continue for other destinations of Odisha(Orissa).
